BrahmicTokenizer-131K: An Indic-Capable Drop-In Replacement for o200k_base

We present BrahmicTokenizer-131K, a 131,072-vocabulary byte-level BPE tokenizer that closes the Brahmic compression gap at the 131K-vocabulary class while preserving the English, EU-language, and code compression of OpenAI's o200k_base. We construct it through a two-stage retrofit: (1) a script-prune crop that reduces 200,019 tokens to 131,072 by removing nine out-of-scope writing systems, and (2) a surgical retrofit of 2,372 corpus-dead vocabulary slots determined by linear-programming allocation across nine Brahmic Unicode blocks. IndicParam: Benchmark to evaluate LLMs on low-resource Indic Languages

Phir Hera Fairy: An English Fairytaler is a Strong Faker of Fluent Speech in Low-Resource Indian Languages

What happens when an English Fairytaler is fine-tuned on Indian languages? We evaluate how the English F5-TTS model adapts to 11 Indian languages, measuring polyglot fluency, voice-cloning, style-cloning, and code-mixing. We compare: (i) training from scratch, (ii) fine-tuning English F5 on Indian data, and (iii) fine-tuning on both Indian and English data to prevent forgetting. Fine-tuning with only Indian data proves most effective and the resultant IN-F5 is a near-human polyglot; that enables speakers of one language (e.g., Odia) to fluently speak in another (e.g., Hindi). L3Cube-IndicSBERT: A simple approach for learning cross-lingual sentence representations using multilingual BERT
