What happened
The odisha-ml/Awesome-Odia-AI repository was created — a curated, living directory of all Odia language AI resources. Starting with 20+ entries, it has since grown to 60+ tools spanning speech recognition, machine translation, large language models, OCR, and more.
Why it matters
Discovery was a major pain point. Odia AI resources were scattered across GitHub, Hugging Face, arXiv, and personal websites. Awesome-Odia-AI became the single source of truth — the first place anyone looks when they want to know what exists for Odia in AI.
Community-driven growth
The directory is maintained by the community. Anyone can submit a new tool, dataset, or model via pull request. This open model ensures the directory stays current and comprehensive as the ecosystem grows.
